When Axle Surgeons of California, Inc. repairs a damaged axle tube, consider it an upgrade. Our machinists use patented technology to replace your damaged drive axle tube. The old axle tube is cut off at the oil seal shoulder and a new tube is sleeved into the housing. Using both a shrink fit and plug welds, new chromoly tubing is welded in place. We replace the broken axle tube on vehicles 3/4 tons and up, and replace spider plates on heavy-duty trailers. In addition, we repair the damaged drive axle tube without removing the axle housing from the truck. Our axle tube replacements can usually be completed in three hours or less.
